These distributions were for N=800 with α=w=1, with a simulation length of 104 seconds. The distributions from the simulated data are pooled from 10 simulations. The theoretical distributions were calculated up to the level of active neurons which occur with a cumulative probability of 0.9 (see main text). The blue line in a indicates a linear fit, i.e. a fitted power law with an exponent of 2.71
