For each noise level σ, we set \(10\sigma_{1} = \sigma_{2} = \sigma_{3} = \sigma\) where \(\sigma^{2}_{i}\), \(i=1,2,3\), are the variances of the independent Brownian motion process driving the gating variables n, m, and h, respectively. A larger σ represents a higher intrinsic noise strength
